My stay at the Barringer Building during August 2008 - February 2009 was the best rental experience I've had. The location is excellent, as is the view. I can remember only one occasion during my stay when I heard any noise from other tenants, and that instance was not severe enough to disturb me. The tenants were amicable and the staff were very helpful, though I rarely found cause to contact them. The only cons (and these were minor) were that there was not a garbage disposal in the unit, I had minor trouble with the a/c (late August--it could become a bit warm, but I bought a $15 fan and that problem was resolved), and maintenance took a bit longer than I would have preferred to repair water damage in the bathroom. Parking may be trouble for some, though I did not mind the walk to Lady Street Garage (where I experienced no trouble with break-ins). My studio faced to the west and I truly enjoyed the sunsets and the expansive view. It was quite relaxing. The view, the location, and the quiet by far outweighed the minor grievances I have mentioned. I will miss Barringer and am currently searching for something comparable in Milwaukee.
