My husband and I (military) moved to Carrington Place in 2006 with the expectations of having a safe environment to reside. We chose this location because of the "gated community". When we were moving in we were told they would be closing in the area around the back gate entrance to make it more secure. Well...let me tell you....2 years passed and as of june 2008 there was still no addition to the back gate. The gates is another issue. Every time an electrical storm or power outage occurs the gates get stuck open and it takes forever for them to be repaired. I remember the back gate was open for 5 months before it was repaired!! The maintenance crew does not come around and change a/c filters as often as they should. I can count 3 times in 2 years that they came around to change the filters. Also...you can complain about an issue to the management and it takes forever for them to say something to the resident. The landscaping is horrible too.....who wants to look at sand every where! The complex across the road has beautiful flowers and grass and great landscaping. We paid way too much to not have a nice landscaped area. I could tell in 2 years time the complex went down in quality instead of up. In the beginning we received monthly resident newsletters on our door. I think that lasted for about 4 months and we never saw another one. We never knew when the management changed and that change often. I think in two years the staff and managment in the office changed 3 or 4 times! Also...as someone else mentioned....you really had a hard time seeing someone because they are always closed for some holiday!

I agree, the gates are always opened and the head manager is never in the office.Everytime you pass the office everyone is on the office patio taking smoke breaks and doing nothing. You can never get a straight answer about anything, maybe it's because the person who can answer the question is never there and the leaseing people are clueless if not dumb. They all dress sloppy and where hoodies, beach shoes, wrinkled clothes and street clothes to work.NOT PROFESSIONAL AT ALL, one of the leasing people had on a dress that was waaay too short for work, management must have been okay with this which says a lot about them. But then again the THE FRONT SIGN SAYS LUXURY APARTMENT HOES BECAUSE SOMEONE REMOVED THE LETTER E FROM THE WORD HOMES!! Maybe it was after they saw the dress code in the office.I went in once to talk with someone and she smelt like she had taken a smoke bath, There is noting luxurious about their appearance or work at all. Speaking of sign, all of the letters are missing at the back, another sign of a lazy manager, Isn't the manager suppose to walk the grounds,I I never see anyone oustside of the office (unless it's a smoke break) but then again, the manager is never there. They are loud and rude. There are cups, crumbs, and stuff all over the front desks. I even saw an application with someones information on it!And your right the landscape is horrible, no one completely picks up the grounds, i saw some office staff do it once but never again. Rumor has it, that there is a petition being rotated thru the property to complain about whats going on with the gate. I hate it here, management needs to step up to the plate and force some things to happen in the office and on the property. My move in was horrible, I had no mailbox keys and had to keep going to the office to pick one up and they never had it ready. I will not renew, some mans going around telling anyone whose out that they installed cameras in the office building because the peopele in the office were stealing and that the property has gang members and that theres a sex offender living out here. Give me a break.

They do smell like cigarette somke at times and I never see the head manager on the property or in the office either but the staff has come a long way in the last few months. Your kinda right the head manager does have a nasty attitude at times and never gives straight answers or follow thru. But I have to admit this staff is much batter than the last one. I just hate going in about an issue with my apartment and have to listen to someone go on and on and on about their personal life. As far as the sign goes im sure it was some prank that they had no control over. For the most part they all look nice to me. I like my unit and the landscape has come a long way.
