I have lived in Charbonneau apartments for apx 5 months. Charbonneau is the only apartment complex that I have lived in in Columbia, since I am new to the area. I chose to live here b/c the price was good, and the apartment included a fireplace, washer and dryer, and free cable. My problems began when I started noticing bees in my apartment. I went to management with the problem, and on every occassion I was told that these bees do not bite, and that there was nothing that they could do about it. Well, as the summer progressed, I began to find several dead bees (8-10)either in my windows or on the floor of my living room. I finally awoke to find bees crawling in my hair one morning. The management staff was not very helpful, and then proceeded to tell me that they didn't know that the bees were INSIDE my apartment. Why would I complain so much about the bees outside' ... you tell me :-) Anyway, the response from management was unsatisfactory to say the least, and then a wildlife guy came and removed a honeycomb from my apartment building. And, the next day I had honey leaking from my ceiling and onto my furniture. They are refusing to let me out of my lease without paying a $1050 fee. I do nto feel that this is my fault. And, also when I contacted the maintenance person about the honey leaking, all he said was to move my furniture out of the way, and that there was nothing that he could do about it that day, and that he could come by later and cut a hole in my ceiling to see if he could get any more of the honey comb out. This is ridiculous. If I had not had this problem, i would probably recommend Charbonneau to others, but we all know that what really matters is the service. Anyone can smile, show you a model apartment, and cash your check. I hope that others do not experience what I have.

I have lived at Charbonneau for some time now and I have noticed bugs...ants, cochroachs, flies, gnats, etc. Apparently a few months back management switched to another pesticide company. Apparently the switch was a bad one. We didn't have bug problems before. And to top it off management won't do anything about it.
