It seemed like a nice place to rent from. The front entrance was nicely landscaped..children were frolicking in the pool...nice cars were parked neatly in their spaces...
I held my breath, plunked down my admin fee and started packing up my "old" place". I should've know things were going to be bad when there were roaches in my newly installed but used fridge. I was told they were stow-aways from when it was in storage. Then my roof began leaking the first time it rained. It was "fixed" and the ceiling re-plastered. It has been "fixed" a total of 5 times now over the last 10 months (and counting). My sliding screen door kept falling off. They finally got that fixed 4 months after I moved in although they were notified before I moved in. My fridge, now roach free and disinfected (I spent 5 hours doing it myself), has created its own built in ice maker by leaking into a bowl on the top shelf that I placed there to catch condensed water vapor. I have placed a request for that to get fixed at least 5 times. I've given up that fight...at The Chimneys you have to pick your battles. In speaking of battles...did I mention that a guy two buildings over got shot in his apartment' I was trying to go home one night and was told I had to turn around because the crime scene investigator had been through yet. I wasn't surprised to see the cops. I've become familiar with some of the faces as I see a patrol car either arresting a fellow tenant or placing some sort of paperwork on an apartment door about every other month or so...

I wouldn't be so upset if "Management" (coughRachelcough) would even act concerned when I brought these issues to them, but it seems as if management couldn't give a flying fart about the tenants concerns (roaming unleashed dogs, filthy breezeways, over-flowing trash dumpsters, etc).

I could go on and on for days...but in the interest of time, I will leave you brave apartment seekers with one final caution...DO NOT RENT FROM THE CHIMNEYS AT BROOKFIELD!
