HEY ALL

I AM A RESISDENT HERE AT CORNELL ARMS, I HAVE LIVED HERE FOR A COUPLE OF YEARS. YES THERE WAS A PRICE INCREASE, BUT GET REAL!!!!! THINGS HAVE INCREASED... I WAS LIVING AT ANOTHER HIGH RISE, AND MY POWER BILL KEPT INCREASING 10.00 A MONTH. I HAD LIVED IN A 3 BEDROOM AT THIS SAME PLACE, AND MY BILL WAS 150.00 A MONTH, AFTER THAT I MOVED INTO A 1 BEDROOM AND IT WAS STILL 150.00. WHEN I MOVED THERE TO CORNELL ARMS,
I LIKE THE FACT THERE IS ONE CHECK TO WRITE. DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT THE POWER, WATER, CABLE BEING CUT OFF DUE TO NON PAYMENT.

THE MANAGEMENT AND STAFF ARE GREAT, ALWAYS VERY NICE AND CARING. YES I WAS THERE WHEN THE GREAT FLOOD CAME, I TOOK COLD BATHS, BUT IT WASN'T THE MANAGEMENTS FAULT. THEY TRIED EVERYTHING...

Rent increase over 30 percent! And for that we get attitude. Years at this apartment: 2000 - 2008 I'm moving. I've been here almost 8 years, and it's had its moments. I lost count of the managers. They come and go, and I liked only one of them. She left. The rent escalated considerably while I lived here, but my rent got raised as of Aug 1 by more than THIRTY percent. No reason for it, just the manager thinks people will pay it - her words. I mentioned to the idiot manager that the building has nearly NO amenities, but she gave me mega-attitude. I signed a 30 day notice, and I'm leaving at the end of August. Period. I'm going to pay less money for more, better appointed space, and I feel sorry for the people who pay the new gouge rate for this dump when I'm gone. The other reports here are accurate. The building has dilapidated over time, from lack of competent care. When I moved in, the surly management annoyed me, but not nearly so bad as the current Queen of Rude, who fired all the people I liked and replaced them with her relatives - obviously her relatives 'cause they share the same attitude. And incompetence. The Great Flood Incident was a perfect example. No communication, no action - and you CAN get plumbing done on a weekend in this town - and terminal attitude. She doesn't care, because she doesn't have to. She doesn't live here. My mailbox is broken, so I have to ask at the desk for my mail - IF there's anyone to ask. I went down to talk about the rent increase. The sign on the door said open 9-5 (appending: "Emergencies call 911", no kidding). The office was locked and there wasn't anybody there. Look around, it's not hard to find places WITH a decent laundry with MORE than 4 machines that even WORK. It's not hard to find a place with a dishwasher, and a stove that didn't come through the Revolution, and central a/c, and elevators that work. Renters, if you get attitude when you ask about renting, LEAVE. We're customers of these idiots, and we deserve to be treated decently.
