I am going to write a review with the pros and cons. I'll start off with the pros because they outnumber the cons.
Pros: Katina is absolutely wonderful! I had to accept this apartment without even looking at it because of being military and she was so pleasant and helpful. You can't get much better than her! Crowne Lake has a beautiful spread. The landscaping is well kept, the lake is absolutely beautiful and the club house is extremely nice. Parking is great. We don't ever really have a problem with parking at all. Oakcrest is perfectly situated between I-20 and I-77 and right down the street from Sparkleberry which offers the best shopping around. We have the largest 3 bedroom floorplan and it is very spacious with lots of windows and natural light. The price for the value is amazing. We just came from Baton Rouge, LA and we were paying $1234 a month for a two bedroom two bathroom apartment that was only 900 square feet. The residents have been very nice so far. The kid's play area is very nice and accomodating. The courtesy officer is very nice and answers your call asap. The weight room is ok. I am a runner and the treadmill is too old to get a good run, but they have free weights and one weight resistance machine. Overall if you are serious about working out you are going to need better equpiment but it will suit most people. The pool area is beautiful!
Cons: ROACHES!! I dont know if the people that lived in our apartment before us were just majorly dirty or not but our roach situation is beyond ridiculous! My husband kills at least 2-4 a night. We have bought our own traps and pest control has come out 3 times to spray and we still have them! If my husband was deployed I would be getting out of my lease it is that ridiculous. We live on the first floor and the noise is terrible! The walls are paper thin and we can hear our neighbor upstairs using the bathroom, washing clothes, other personal noises, etc... He was having a party the other night and we literally had a picture fall off of our wall! We ended up calling the courtesy officer at 2 in the morning and he was very helpful. A huge problem is the dumpster. We are in the very back building and there is only one dumpster in the very front of the complex. Having to take a load of garbage to the dumpster is a 5 minute car ride it is ridiculous!
That is it! I am going to post pictures as soon as I hang my curtains. Overall, Crowne Lake is a great place to live with only a few setbacks. Those few setbacks are very small in comparison to the wonderful experience so far living here!
