Let's start with the staff. Very cold, unfriendly, unknowledgable, and just plain rude (with the excemption of the maintainance staff, they are friendly and timely). Here's an example of the office staff: We moved into our apt. and left the next day to go to CO and were gone for a week. We did not get out electricity or gas turned over into our name quick enough, 6 days after we moved in they turned it off! No phone call to my cell which they had on file and I had with me. So we came home to 100 degree weather and no AC or hot water for 2 days. After a lot of arguments with the ignorant, unorganized staff they credited me back for my groceries in the fridge and freezer. Never once did I get an appology, they thought by paying for my groceries it was all OK, but really the inconveneince and the frustration and stress it caused my family was horrible. Their excuse was "the manager was out, the girl on duty that gave me the keys when I moved in was not aware of the policies and they should have told me to get it turned on ASAP!" I mean, you have to wonder if these people communicate at all with eachother'!

Example 2: When we were shown the apartment, a nice lady took us through. She told us the "washer and dryer were included in the apt" and also that when on the lawn next to the playground we cold take our 70 pound lab off his leash and throw the frisbee with him as we had done in the past at all the apt. complexes we lived it. Those 2 were deciding factors on whether to get the apt. or not. We did apply and hold our apt. that day. Well, she turned out to be a temp and did not know anything so we were informed LATER that a washer and dryer were NOT included and there is a SC state law that pets have to be on a leash at ALL TIMES so we were lied to. We came from GA, the leash law states there that you can have your dog off the leash while in the presence of a owner for whom they will obey. (AT least that is what the apt. complex told us). My dog has NEVER EVER approached or hurt anyone EVER at any apt. People think b/c he is big, he will kill or something, he's such a sweet dog, but I make sure he does not bother anyone, and he doesn't.

Oh and you want to talk about dirty......bugs the size of quarters, spiders, etc. I've complained, they supposedly sprayed, but I still have LOTS and LOTS of big bugs!

And noisy, people are at the pool all hours of the night and the sign clearly states that you have to be out of there by 10pm. The office staff told me to call the courtesy officer on duty and they will take care of it. Called just about every night!! The office could have simply posted a flyer, either way, policies are broken here all the time, people parking in handicapped parking etc. and they are so lax about it all, but they enforce my dog being on a leash who has never caused anyone any harm! Not to mention geting a note telling me I could not leave my child's toys outside my door, it looked messy! They have nothing else to complain about around here, all the people that live here are stuck-up, I say 95% of them. Quick to judge and complain. Nothing better to do w/their time than complain about my children's toys that are simply sitting there, not bothering anyone! Crazy! And we are military and move around a LOT, never have we been so disrespected. And to think my husband is in the service fighting for the very rights these people don't appreciate, they would rather complain and be rude, like the staff, they are incapable of getting anything done that you ask, and so mean about it if they do. Just don't live here, you will be dissapointed! Sorry!

Sounds like you need a house with your own yard and not an apartment. And as far as the electric, to me sounds like your negligence and not that of the office staff. When you moved in you were aware, by the lease agreement I am sure, that you were responsible for the electric. Its your fault you did not get it turned on prior to moving in.
