My husband and I are currently renting a 1-bedroom apt. at The Paddock Club. We've been here since May 07. Our apt. faces the lake and we enjoy the view of the water and pines. We enjoy the screened balcony, too. Nice that there is a storage closet there for bikes and whatever. We have found the administrative and maintenance staff to be responsive and very courteous. Our apartment is *ok* - nothing special as a previous reviewer noted - but overall it is clean, well maintained, and adequate enough for our needs at present. We have had a couple of minor issues:

1) We had to have the refrigerator replaced because it was incredibly noisy (very old), and made a loud BANG! every 15 minutes or so, disrupting sleep. Sounded like a door inside the apt. being slammed shut. It was promptly replaced with the fridge from the empty apt. next door. I don't know how the current residents there feel about their fridge, tho'!

2) The apt. above ours apparently had a back-up in the dishwasher drain, and our kitchen ceiling leaked water. There are water stains on our kitchen ceiling now, which should be repainted or otherwise dealt with. But I haven't made any requests yet. This happened on a Sunday evening, and when I called the emergency number that we were having a ceiling leak, the response was quick, which I honestly didn't expect. Pleasantly surprised about that.

3) Some of the electrical outlets only half work - the top half does not give any "juice" but the bottom does. Strange! I need to inform the office about it, because we could use the extra outlets.

Most of the people who live here are pleasant. I haven't had any problems with the residents. Everybody pretty much minds their own business.

The main issue I have with the other residents is their not cleaning up their pet (dog) waste. I have a small dog and I always clean up after her when I take her out. It's just common courtesy, not to mention hygeinic. The management company has provided pet waste bags and receptacles at various points around the property. I just use a grocery store plastic bag most of the time. My dog is little, but there are some big dogs here - and there is dog poop everywhere! It is truly disgusting. This is not the management company's fault, it is the laziness and inconsiderateness of the residents who don't clean up after their dogs. You know who you are!!! :-/

So, all said and done, the Paddock Club is ok, nothing special, but has a very nice setting and the people who work here are nice. The rent is about to be raised. We'll see whether we renew or not.
