Trying to make you pay after you move when you dont renew your lease

This is a pretty sad management outfit. Upon giving verbal notice that I was buying a house and would not renew my lease at the end of the year I was told my rent would increase if I stayed there without renewing my lease. I was late not even 24 hours with my rent one time in a year and had to pay 400.00 move in special plus 85.00 for my rent being less than 24 hours late. The manager was notified 30 days in writing as well as 3 months verbally that I would be moving before Dec 31st. Sandy now says I owe for every month that the apartment has not been rented since I moved out. I did not renew my lease and the office staff knew that I wasn't going to renew it. This has happened to several people that wouldn't renew their lease. And as far as drug activity it is there and they know it as well as the guy who was arrested for stalking children who is a child molestor lived right in one of the apartments. The outside lighting was off for over 2 months. There is also bats around the apartments. Now they want to send me to collections and take me to court for money I do not owe. Sandy is not only uncaring she is rude and unprofessional in this line of work. They kept my deposit for a stain on the carpet that was there when I moved in. Maintenance never fixed anything without waiting 2 weeks. As far as roaches they dont spray and they also dont reimburse you for spraying yourself. If they are that hard up for renting the apartments I can surely understand why nobody wants to live there. So no matter how long you have been there or how you try to bluff your way through ...cheating people is a good way for the better business bureau to get involved. Because they sure dont want you to know who her boss is to complain. And I dont owe anything according to my lawyer so I hope they do send me into the collection agency and try to make me pay for not renewing my lease. I was out before my lease was up and I do not owe for anything past Dec 30th. The apartment was cleaner when I left than when I moved in and they even kept my deposit. Sad business...hard up for money sounds like it to me. My rent was paid before I moved out and I owe them nothing. You can have my deposit since you must keep it. Make sure when you send it to collections you deduct that off the rent you say I owe in which I didn't renew a lease on and wasn't in the apartment that month. Pathetic business dealing.

I am an apartment manager and have known Sandy for years. This letter is ridiculous. This person admits to breaking a lease,(no written move out notice) and to damaging the apartment. If they were charged for carpet stains then there were visable stains. If they did not fill out an inspection report when they moved in detailing existing damages, then they ARE RESPONSIBLE. Apparently this person does not comprehend that late rent is late whether by 24 hours or 24 days and late fees will be assessed. It seems to me that apartment management is being raked over the coals for bad decisions being made by a ignorant person who does not know how to read and understand a Lease Agreement.

You must be Sandy. Why is the management writing reviews. Let the people who lived there respond. Parklane was the worst place I have ever lived. I know who the tenant in this case was and whoever you are obviously are distorting the truth. Lets face it Parklane is one step up from the projects, I would NEVER recommend my worst enemy to live here. Your staff is rude and maintenace is slow and careless.

I live at Parklane and have for a while. I love it. Lets see you were late and you are upset for being charged late fees. Read your lease it says late fees will be charged after the fifth of the month, even if you paid at eleven pm on the fifth when they return to the office it is now the sixth so guess what your late! and spraying for pest yourself if you are that hard up to get $4.79 back from a can of raid, lord help you. and oh god about the drug activity if the freaking governtment cant stop it, the damn local police cant control it, what in the world do you expect the apartment manager alone to do? since you know of it as well as you are claiming they do, are you reporting it to the police? of course your not you dont want to get involved to jepordize yourself. get real and man up stop crying like a lil' -----!

This obineesit surely doesnt know what he is talking about.. Sounds like a disgruntled resident or one that was evicted for not fulfilling their lease. This Scammedbyparklane person that wrote the orignial review apparently did not fulfil their lease either, when rent is due they do give you a grace period before it is offically late, so if your rent was late and you were charged a late fee and a move in special you were obviously more than "24 hours" late. As far as the maint staff, I think Parklane has the best maint staff I have ever seen, they are prompt and repair the problem properly. As far as you noticing the "drug activity" I agree with expressive00, if the govt, and police cant do it how do you expect an apartment manager to do it when she is busy babysitting whiney ass residents, who cant pay their rent ontime, then look for excuses as to why it was the managers fault. Grow up, get responsible for your own actions stop blaming everyone else!!! |
