I moved into the Reserve in July '07 and plan to live there until I leave Columbia. I love it! I had some issues when I moved in- the painters didn't paint my bathroom, and the garbage disposal & ice maker weren't working, but it was addressed IMMEDIATELY. The garbage disposal was fixed, and the bathroom painted, the SAME DAY I called the office, and after trouble-shooting with the ice maker one day, they brought in a whole new fridge the next afternoon. Nevermind the fact that I had changed my move-in plans at the last minute to move in a month early (which the office bent over backwards to accommodate). I agree that the apartments are a bit pricier, and water and electric are a little more expensive than when I lived in SE Columbia (my water went from $30 to $45 a month, and my electric from about $60 to $75 in the summer), but I feel incredibly safe, and I love my apartment's floorplan. And the cost includes cable, so that helps. I have more than enough storage in a 1 bedroom, and the layout makes sense, unlike some other 1 bedroom apartments I looked at. Also, The Reserve is in the middle of actual neighborhoods, not apartment complexes, and it seems safer. I've accidently left my car doors unlocked, and things within reach on my 1st floor patio, and nothing has ever been bothered. I even sleep with the windows open... something I never did in my last place. The office staff has gone out of their way for me more than once, and are always friendly, never snotty. I do live under the stairs, and can occasionally hear women in heels walking, but I haven't had any other noise issues. Everyone I've encountered here has been extremely friendly, courteous, and considerate. It seems that the tenants are all families or young professionals. I know for a fact that another complex down the road (recently expanded and behind Sonic) has a lot of Section 8 tenants, and while there's nothing wrong with that, it can often bring in riff-raff with the good people who going through tough times. The Reserve is beautiful, and the facilities are top-notch- I have no complaints whatsoever!

While I do appreciate your experiance with this particular place I find it quite offensive for you to associate rift-raft with tenants that utilize the Section 8 program. I, for one, know of many people who are not on any government programs and behave in a manner far worse than many of those that do receive government assitance. Please think twice before making such a generalized comment next time although I am sure that you did not mean any harm.

I agree with you that the management WAS great! Unfortunately, they got rid of them because they were "doing such a bad job" and now we are stuck with a new manager every month! They enter your apartment (without your permission!) and then try to blame it on you. Trust me, the new management is not your friend and you do not want to rent here. Try somewhere else in the area. There are tons of great apartments in this area; unfortunately, The Reserve is not one of them anymore.
