I've been living in my apartment at this complex for about 8 weeks now. I did all my research. Looked around, read the reviews, talked to people. I was told not to move here but figured it was all just because those people were doing something wrong. I moved in on a Friday and by the following Wednesday there was a leak in my little hallway area. I called the front office and a guy quickly came to "fix" it. He said it was the water heater. So he replaced it. The next morning I went to take a shower and the bathroom quickly filled up with water! The water in the hallway got progressivly worse and when I went to walk into my bedroom this murky water junk pooled up all the way to my ankle! So I called the office again, "Leak still isn't fixed". 3 days later one of the guys comes out and says it's the a/c unit that's leaking. So he sucks out all the water from my closet and calls it fixed. Maintenance has been out to my apartment 7 times within the past 4 weeks trying to fix this leak. I've had to resort to wearing flip flops around my apartment instead of going barefoot because of the water in the hallway (which is now starting to make mold and mildew grow on the baseboards). This past Monday night, I walked down the hall and my flip flop got all wet. I didn't realize this until I was walking in the foyer area and started to fall. I grabbed onto the door knob to keep from falling and when I did my toe bent all the way backwards and snapped. Thanks Richland Terrace for a broken toe and a hairline fracture! Please if you are thinking of moving here, it's not worth it. Go somewhere else. There's an apartment complex up the road a little ways that has water included in their rent if that's what you like about RT. There are better apartments in the area!! I don't have a problem with bugs except those little rolly polly things. They roll up in a ball in your carpet and you have to vacuum every day to get them up. Oh yea and when I first moved in, I had well over 400 flea bites because Richland Terrace staff said, "The girl living there before you kept it in pretty decent shape" only I find out about a week ago that the only reason they had to replace the carpet was because it was infested with fleas! Please please please, do not move here. I promise you it's not worth it!!! We did just get a new property manager who seems really nice and seems like she's wanting to help the residents, but for me it's too little, too late. I'm looking elsewhere and will break my lease when I find somewhere else! I have had people come and knock on my door at all hours of the night/morning. I had someone try to break in. If you care at all about your safety and well being, DO NOT MOVE HERE!!!!!!!! If for whatever reason, you do move here, invest in a baseball bat, pepper spray, river waders, and flea powder because you'll need it!
