The grounds are absolutely beautiful. I was extremely disappointed when I moved in. I have been here 8 days and still don't have any towel racks and only one toilet paper holder which was installed a couple of days after I moved in. There were so many things on my list that maintenance had to come in and do. My biggest problem is there apparent lack of real knowledge of apartment maintenance.
The worst part of this situation is - they just don't seem to care. It's anything goes.
To be fair, I know I am a little picky as I worked 14 years as a rental agent in Lancaster, PA. Our apartments had to be as close to perfect as possible. The carpet was always cleaned or replaced. No paint allowed on the doorknobs, all caulking had to be done with extreme care, etc. We always gave a beautiful apartment to our customers/residents. The word of mouth kept us with a waiting list. Customer service was our top priority. All it takes is to have good management. I have been here 8 days and already met three people that used to live here. One lady broke the lease at a cost to her of over $2000. She said it was worth it. None of the people had anything good to say, other than the beautiful, well kept grounds. I cannot recommend this place to anyone. I will move at the end of my lease unless things improve regarding customer/resident service.

Trust me on this... If you have just moved in, check your lease and see if there is a way to get out. I lived here from 8/2009- 9/2009 and it was terrible! My car was keyed three times, my tires slashed & I've talked to many other residents who have had similar problems. That 'gate' up front as I'm sure you've noticed is a joke. All that you have to do is follow someone in. They've had problems with thugs jumping the fence at the back of the property and roaming around the property at night too. Bottom line, this property does look nice... the units are not in tip top shape but that's the least of your worries. If you are a woman living alone I would be extremely worried about your safety. You can contact the Richland County police department to obtain informatino about incidents on this property as well. Please do yourself a favor and leave as soon as you can. It's not worth it!

If you don't mind me asking, how did you get out of your lease so fast? I am a single woman living alone that moved to the Commons in August also and I am ready to leave because I do not feel safe here. Did you have to pay a buy out fee?
