I didn't like this place from day one AFTER we moved in! Sure they seem nice when you see the model apartment. It's different when you move in and the bathrooms haven't been cleaned since the last renter. We had TWO cars stolen from the parking lot of this complex. TWO cars within 12 months!! Management said it wasn't their responsibility nor was it their fault. According to them, I was parking my car at my own risk. The blonde girl that worked in the office said it was no different than me parking my car at the mall. Yeah, well, I didn't pay the mall almost $750 for rent to have a safe place to park my car!! That really made me feel all warm and fuzzy...and scared! Thank goodness I wasn't robbed at gunpoint or raped!! By the way, someone broke into my neighbor's apt with a KEY!! Very fishy. Everything is out dated and seems to break down a lot. We had at least four different leaks. A cable company repair guy once told me that some the apartments 'up the hill' had/have major roach problems. He said the walls were infested with them. Speaking of which, the walls are paper thin!! Our neighbors must have been on a never-ending honeymoon. We could hear things that would make a porn star blush! Overall, I would not recommend Wellspring to anyone. I suggest you pay more money for a new gated apartment complex. Or, go down Broad River toward I-20 and pay rent for an apartment that you expect to be trashy.

If you hated it that much, why did you stay there for three years?

If you had a bad impression one day after your initial move in which was in the year 2004 why didn't you move out until 2007? That means you at minimum renewed a 1 year lease twice.
In addition a car, or multiple cars being stolen from the property is *not* the responsibility of management, especially in a non-gated community. It would be like me trying blame the city I live in and sue them if my car is stolen from the road next to my house. That is an issue between myself and law enforcement, not my landlord or the city/couty I live in. As far as your comment about gunpoint/rape - it's the same exact thing - that is a law enforcement issue not an issue with management or staff unless you can prove beyond the shadow of a doubt in a court of law that they let someone into your apartment, etc.
As far as your neighbor's being "broken into" with a key, then it's not breaking and entering, it's unlawful entry if the person didn't have permission to have or use the key. There are any number of reasons outside of negligence by the management and or staff that someone could enter your neighbor's apartment with a key.
If the complex was built prior to the current housing codes then you can expect that repairs have to occur, that's normal if you are renting an apartment, a house or even buying. As long as there aren't any code violations, the apartment repairs are kept up to date and the repairs necessary aren't directly caused by the tenants misuse/abuse then there is nothing you can do about it other than move. Read your landlord/tenant laws in South Carolina before you complain.
A "cable company" guy talking about roaches up the hill is hearsay, not to mention that the majority of cockroach problems are caused by tenants and not an apartment.
If you had an issue with excessive noise from your neighbor you should have made a formal complaint to the office, or the police for noise violations.
All in all, if it was such a horrible place to live then you should have noted your complaints about repairs and/or noise to both the office and if necessary the correct authorities for noise and/or code or landlord/tenant laws violations and began searching for a new place to live instead of sitting around for three years and not sending in a review until a year after you moved out.
