This place SUCKS!

Years at this apartment: 2002 - 2004
One of the selling points the complex uses to attract tenants is the swimming pool(s). Well, first of all, there is only one pool. Secondly, this is my second summer at Patriots, and I have never seen the pool open. Last summer they spent who knows how much money fixing and improving the pool, which I'm sure increased rent, yet when they were done, it was never open for tenants to enjoy. When asked about this, the office manager said it was because someone living on an apartment had a party, and some things were thrown into the pool, and it was closed because of that. I, however, have never abused any of the amenities in the complex, pay my rent in a timely manner, and have been generally easy to please, yet I also get punished because a bunch of college kids decide to get drunk and damage property. It seems to me they should assess damages to the individuals responsible, not other innocent parties. Another amenity listed on the coporate website is the volleyball court. I don't know when they last visited Patriots, but it obviously hasn't been in the past two years. There is no court. There is an area of sand in the middle of one of the few patches of grass in the complex with two wooden poles on either side. The net, however, is in the sand, and weeds now grow up through the sand. It's now become a place for cats and dogs to do their business. In addition to these so-called amenities, I simply must address the "carpeted floors." Yes, the floors are carpeted, but unless you are extremely lucky, your carpet is probably 10 years old. The carpet is covered with stains, and just thinking about walking around without shoes or socks makes one want to vomit. Now I shall move on to the thing that prompted this review in the first place. I got home from work today at my normal time, and after using the phone for about 15 minutes and checking my mail I go to use the bathroom. I flush the toilet when I'm done and notice that it didn't sound right. I look in the bowl and realize it isn't full, so I check the sink, and sure enough--no water. It's now 5:30 in the afternoon and the managers are nowhere to be found. If they were planning to have work done on the waterlines today, they should have advised all tenants. I guess it is possible that it wasn't planned, but an emergency, but it's happened before. Thsi isn't the first time we haven't had water. So even if it was an emergency, they need to get it fixed for good. The bottom line is that the people who run Patriots don't seem to care much about their tenants. I highly recommend searching elsewhere for an apartment. I can't imagine it getting much worse.
