From the day I moved into the apartment I have nothing but problems. I was told that there was no crime or problems at the complex. As soon as I moved in I noticed people moving out in the middle of night. An incident occurred right before I moved in where an intruder climbed up a balcony and broke into the apartment and assaulted a female. I male overdosed on heroin and died in one of the apartments. Since I have lived there the police have been called for the following
Domenstic disputes with violence
A drug dealer beaten up
A gang fight in the middle of the day
Loud music and partying
Vehicles broken into (including my own)
Non tenants hanging around complex
Apartments broken into
Teenagers having sex in the pool
Former tenant selling drugs out of apartment
Stolen property on balconies and porches
Assualt
Death by drug overdose

MANAGEMENT has no control over their apartments and are nothing but liars and they are scared to say anything to anyone. The regional manager stays in a hotel when she comes down even though she has an apartment fixed up just for her to stay in. She doesn't even feel safe staying here--enough said!

I was told that this was a great safe community that had 2 pools. Everytime I complained about all the children in the pool with no adults I was told it would be better after the second pool was open. The second pool has been shut down for 2 years because DHEC will not let them open it. I called 3 times to complain about the loud music and noise from the pool (near my apartment) and was promised a call back but was never contacted.

The living conditions are horrible all around the complex. The neighbor s apartment has had mold inside on the wall for over 6 months. There is also graffiti and unsafe buildings all around. The other day when I was walking my dog there was condomns laying in the grass.

I have also been discriminated and harassed since I moved in because of my race (causican). I am paying the highest rent because of my income and race even though rent is not based on income. I cannot even walk the dog without being harassed with rude comments being yelled at me.

I have complained in person and by phone to management and even called the regional manager and requested to end my lease early. I was rudely told I signed a contract and would be held responsible for rent until the full term of my lease. I tried to express my concerns about my safety due to my car being broken into Florence Police Case#2008-007905. I currently have a lawyer involved with all of these issues.

I would like to also inform you that the people managing the property all quit within a month since I moved in. I feel you would like to know about the living conditions at this apartment complex and how management has no control of their property and tenants. Rules and regulations are not enforced and ignored by management.

The people managing the property that "quit" were actually fired. I, too, am White and lived in those apartments for a year. I ended my lease early by paying a buy-out, which was equal to one month's rent. I felt that paying 1120 to get out of my apartment there at Sedgefield was worth it. My car was also broken into, like yours was. However, my apartment was decent because I actually complained to the parent company (CLK) and because they were involved, some of my issues were quickly resolved. I hope that new management will turn that place around.

I'm glad you got out of your apartment. I did contact CLK management, the regional manager and the president but unfortunately they did nothing. I am still getting a water bill in the mail but I'm not paying it. I think the people that moved in never changed to their name. Oh well, that place will never get another dime out of me.
