Hated this place

If you are looking for an expensive place that still has lead paint in the construction (you sign a wavier when you lease), then this is the place for you. In the just over two years I lived in these apartments, my husband and I endured so many problems it's hard to name them all. But I'm going to try:
Insects: we constantly bounced between spiders (and I'm talking 2 inches, not little ones) which would clear out the roaches, or were overrun by roaches. Not to mention the improper seal on the back door (which I complained about several times) which would allow in pill bugs and all manner of other timy infestations. My parents came to visit and slept downstairs, and in the course of five minutes we killed five palmetto bugs. I was mortified.
Shoddy workmanship: OK, I realize that these are older apartments, but my hasband went to kill a roach on the wall in our kitchen and put a hole through the sheet rock. This happened on two other occasions. That is also how we realized why our cooling bills were so high. There is no insulation in any of the walls.
Maintenance: We had ongoing issues with rude maintenance employees who took forever (usually about a week) to respond to anything but an immediate emergency, but then usually tried to find a way to blame (and then charge) you for the problem. We had a problem with our AC, which was really because the unit was to small for the square footage of the apartment. They blamed it on filters (which we changed regularly), frion (saying we were running the AC too much), and not cleaning the door in front of the AC (which was BS). I endured a summer of pregnancy with almost no AC because of these jokers.
Laundry: If you don't have your own washer and dryer (and don't get an apartment with hookups), then you will have to endure the laundry room. No AC, 64% of the equipment doesn't work. The only plus is the ones that do work are only .50 to wash and $1.00 to dry.
Safety: My car was broken into, and the crazy local kids would hot rod through the parking lots.
Parking: Ok, I was six months pregnant, and would still have to walk from pretty much across the property after work (about 9:00 pm) to get to my apartment.
The employees (other than Fiona, who was awesome, and who also left) were so-so, and were the only reason we stuck around through rent increases and all the rest. I sooooo don't suggest this place.
