Don't Even Think About It.

Oh, where to begin...
As I sit here typing this, almost at 10:00 p.m., I am listening to my upstairs neighbor bouncing around the apartment. This is all I hear, every day at every hour. I have frequently been awaken by creaking noises upstairs. Not sure what's going on, don't really want to know, but it's annoying. Every afternoon, I hear gangsta rap blaring out from the upstairs neighbor's tv set. And I get to hear everytime they take a shower, which is roughly 5 times a day...
...which leads me to another complaint. The water is on a master meter, divided by the number of residents in each unit. Very unfair. My first water bill was around $40. Then it went up to $50. Last month, no joke, it was $80. This month it went down to $60, which is still ridiculous. The other day I got a letter stating that they found a leak in a common area so they were credting us on this month's water bill. A whole $10 credit.
Currently, they are replacing some rotting siding on the units and repainting them. Unfortunately, the inside of the apartments is what really needs updating. In one of my bathrooms, you can see old wallpaper underneath a thin, sloppily applied layer of paint. You can see patched holes everywhere in the walls. And the cabinets are downright nasty. They are horribly water damaged. Above my kitchen sink, underneath the bar, the wood is rotting off because it is so water damaged. Anytime I accidentally touch it, another chunk of wood falls off.
I had to call the cops a few months ago because someone thought it was a good idea to sit in their car at 2:00 a.m. and blast music right in front of my apartment building.
Last month, someone in my building was moving out. They thought it was a good idea to park a truck with a trailer on it all the way in the breezeway of the building, close to the stairs. I couldn't even get in my building from that side because they were completely blocking it. I have a newborn baby, and I had to carry her all the way around to the other side of the building to get in. I promptly called the office to complain. I was assured that they would tell them to move. Of course, nothing ever happened.
I can't wait until my lease is up! I am out of here.
