Going Downhill

I've lived at Carolina Crossing Apartments for eight years. When I moved in, I couldn't say enough good about it, but over the past couple of years, it is deteriorating. Management has sent in pest control, plus I hired my own pest control, and even with both, I still have roaches. These apartments were built in the '60s, and you can tell they're getting old. My central air hasn't cooled adequately in three summers now. Last summer when the temperature outside reached 105, my apartment was 80 degrees, and the AC starts losing ground as soon as the outside temperature tops 90. Management will not replace the AC unit. In fact, it's currently not cooling at all. I called the office about it nine days ago, and nobody has been to repair it yet. When I asked why, I was told that at this time of year, AC has low priority for maintenance. So I'm having to put up with 76 degree heat in my apartment. Many of the tenants here are pure trash. Any mail that is too big for your mailbox and has to be put in the bin will be opened by other tenants. They can't even keep the same office people for two months in a row, so you know it must be really bad. As soon as my lease is up, I'm out of here. I can't believe that such a formerly fine place to live has turned into what it has. And I haven't even told all there is to tell!
