As a former leasing consultant for another property in greenville, i can tell you that Asthon Woods, in my experience, has been far superior to other communities. a lovely girl in the office, Laura, showed us a 3 br on the ground floor which looked worn down despite the paint and upgrades. Since I've been in the business for years I know firsthand some apartments can have a "harder life" than others, and so i asked to see another. The next one she showed us was pristine for it's age. Obviously built in the 80's the countertops were new, with the cabinet doors replaced, and a wood floor in the kitchen (my neighbor has beautiful tile floors) ceiling fans, and crown moulding. the floors are very durable and the walls are pretty thick from my experience. Yet, this IS an apartment home, so you will hear some noise. The maintenance staff has been excellent, and when i installed my washer it had a leak from their end, and he called a contractor to ensure it was fixed properly. Thye show up immediately for toilet, HVAC, and other major issues.. And little things are handled fairly promptly. The girls in the office have been very friendly and helpful. (I believe it was) the asst. manager who explained the package system to me and gave me the number to the post office. the playground is incredible in regards to an apartment amenity. The gym is beautiful, they offer a free gym membership, and the dog park is fun for our dog.. The negatives are few, as far as Ive seen, but to be fair I will mention them.. The gates are sometimes open after 7PM, The area is a little on the expensive side as far as the pharmacy's around here, BUT there is a new wal-mart right next door, which could be great or bad depending on your perspective..They didnt do a criminal background check on us when we moved in, which means they didnt do it on our neighbors either.. That makes me a little nervous, but Im sure it is more standard than doing a background check..other than that and a few domestic issues anyone will see anywhere you live, this place is a gem.. the elementary school is fantastic and is #2 in greenville county schools (my real estate friend told me this) and the laundry room is organized, modern and user friendly..I would recommend this place to any of my family and friends. As for pricing There is a pricing system that they have that is, out of their immediate control, I know b/c I dealt with the same program.. it is a program that automatically formulates market rent of all properties is greeville/ greer, vacancies, number of days vacant and WHEN you move are all factors that vary daily. My advice to anyone considering renting.. Is to move OFF season such as winter, you will get the best prices and best deals..Everyone's rent is different but if you're a smart shopper, you can get a great deal.
