I lived in Halcyon apartments at one time and although I didn't think the apartments were wonderful, opted to go back a second time when my husband and I had sold our home and needed a place to live until we purchased a new home. We were very specific that we wanted a NO SMOKING unit. The place we were shown had yellow walls from the smoker who lived there previously. We were assured that they would clean up the unit and bring in equipment to clear the smell that lingered. Backed into a corner we reluctantly agreed to the unit. When we first moved in it appeared to have lost that smokey smell but once you start turning on the furnice and air - all that smoke filtered back into the apartment and it was horrible. Since I was three months pregnant at the time and the smoke gave both my husband and I terrible migranes, we opted to break our lease. The smoke, combined with a master bedroom wall that vibrated from the upstairs unit, nails in the carpeting that were hazerdous to bare feet and overall rot and mildew - these apartments were not for us. Also if you happen to live on Eastern Meadow, beware of Halloween because it has been a yearly tradition to trash cars that live in the back units. As far as management goes, one particular employee would rather stand outside and smoke her cigerettes then do her job. She was very rude and unprofessional. I guess you get what you pay for !!!

As a resident, I agree with the assessment of the employee who stands outside to smoke cigarettes.
