We just moved out... PEOPLE BEWARE, We just got a bill for 1111.00 to replace damages "we did to apartment" When we moved in the carpet was stained with bleach. I ask them to give us new carpet and they refused. Now we lived there 4 years with a husband who comes home from work very dirty (until he takes a shower) I have kids running in and out animals running in and out.So we are looking at 4 years from the tenant before us of normal wear and tear. We were not told we had to put plastic down on the floors so as not to get them dirty. Now she wants us to pay for new carpet.900.00. But, when we lived there new carpet wasn't an option. I had to deal with someone elses bleach stains on my carpet. And every year we renewed our lease we ask them to clean the carpet. It looked great, well now that we are gone cleaning the carpet is not go enough. (they think,,,, Why should we pay for new carpet when we can get the ones who have worn them out the most. Well we refuse to pay for normal wear and tear.I would NEVER move back there EVER unless of course The ------ so called mamager leave FOR GOOD.

I agree! Corporate office must have been desperate to give her the title! The former manager might have recommended her as well. Either way, we residents are miserable and frustrated!

They remind me of used car salesmen. Roll your pantlegs up because they know the talk. They give that smile, pretend to write down your work order and you never hear anything. Oh, it must of got lost. From what I can see it starts at the top(owners) and goes all the way down.

I've lived at Halcyon since the fall of '05 and have had little to no complaints about these apts. Any complaints I have had have been heard by management (old and new) and handled to my satisfaction in a timely friendly manner. These apartments are older and I knew would come with some maintenance issues. I've always received quick responses when asking for repairs. I've dealt with both the old and new managers and each have treated me with respect, understanding and professionalism, as I have also treated them. I was recently, for the first and only time, late with my rent and notified the new manager of this fact beforehand. She was very understanding and nice to me when told, easing my mind. I renewed my lease for another year bc of that and many other reasons.

The manager wrote the above response.
After living here for almost 2 years I have a more balanced view. I've looked at and read reviews for every complex in Greenville in this price range and Halcyon is really no better or worse than the average apartment in Greenville... just bigger. That's really not saying much because "most" are poorly run.
I've had a few run-ins with the manager, but I've documented everything with photos and letters. Even my posts on here document the conditions so I have no concern about moving out. I am moving, but the primary reason is to save $$ and be closer to town where I work. I might feel differently if I had a lot of maintenance issues.
Anyway, aside from manager (I rarely have any interaction with her anyway) the apartments themselves are not bad. Not good but not bad. It's all been pretty well documented by these reviews so read them carefully.
Just don't come in with high expectations; and make sure you document EVERYTHING. Even take photos.
Would I live here again? Not until they replace the manager along with the carpets. LOL

I've lived at Halcyon for almost 4 years and have not had all of the problems I've read about here. Maybe it's bc I rarely deal with the manager bc I rarely need anything other than a few maintenance repairs that have been fixed pretty quickly. I pay my rent on time. get along with my neighbors, enjoy how quiet it usually is and have never had any trouble parking. Some people just need to have their own yards, driveways and homes with their own appliances and just aren't suited for apartment living.
