Just some things you should know before you move to his over-priced dump. Please read, you'll thank me later, it'll save you money cause you'll end up not moving here.

The biggest selling point(s) to this place that management uses, are the gates up front and the "Private Deck/Dock" on the lake.

Gates - Between some residents getting too drunk and driving through them and maintence not properly servicing them, they are VERY RARELY FUNCTIONAL. It's pretty sad, when staff in the office go to show an apartment and they walk by a gate that's stuck and won't close. How sad is that' People just follow people in the gate when it's working or if it's not working they just drive through the portion that's stuck open. What's funny is the staff at the office sells this as a "Satey/Protection" measure. HAHA .. What a joke. If you don't believe me, then drive over there and try to get in or sit by the mail boxes and observe. Anybody can get in no matter what time of day. Why even have a gate they don't protect you. If they did, cars wouldn't be getting stolen and vandalized.

Private Dock by the lake: Have you noticed all the copper tops on the posts damaged from people vandalizing them' That damage has been there for at least 5 months or longer and the office staff/maintence refuse to fix it. I don't believe the maintence people even ride down there to take a look around cause if they did they'd notice all the trash lying on the ground by the deck/dock and they'd notice the overflowing trash cans.. That says a lot right there.

The office staff is another story. They've had close to three turn overs in the office since I've been here. The Company that owns "The Village at Lake Wylie" are about to go out of business from what I understand, therefore nobody wants to work for them. Now, they have some wannabe cheerleaders up there who could really care less about the people who live here. They ignore maintance requests, Don't relay messages to other members of the office, and I've overheard them on more than one occasion gossip about residents to other staff members and to other residents in front of residents like myself who are standing in the office waiting to be seen while they run their mouths about gossip to other people while they look at me and see me standing there waiting to be seen. Is this a place you really want to live'

Security for the complex is pretty decent. I haven't seen many problems. We've had 3 courtesy officers since I've been here and they all quit cause they couldn't stand the behavior of the Office Management. All three courtesy officers were great, two especally, always taking care of any issues that I had in a timely manner no matter what time day. However, it seems like the management ran them off, now we have no courtesy officers, we have to call 911.

The apartment themselves are built poor. You can hear people next to you and above you like they're inside your apartment with you. I can't count how many cracks I have in my walls, etc. The apartments breed mold like you wouldn't believe. You walk outside and they're bird droppings everywhere and spider webs. You walk outside into the grass to get to your car, you have to walk through piles of dog crap and when it rains, you have to walk through a swamp. Again, another issue the office management staff ignores. Now, they are handing out cameras to residents so the residents can take pictures of other residents who don't pick up their dog waste so they can take it to the office so you can get fined $50. haha. Are you serious' That's a problem solver isn't it' Turn the residents against each other. I agree, people should clean up after their pets, but give me a break, take a picture of them and turn them in' Whatever. If the office would just send people out to clean it up, there wouldn't be any problems, it's not like they're doing anything else. And it'd be nice if the maintence staff would clean out the dog waste trash cans. I've complained several times about this, and I get the "I'll let them know", and nobody ever comes and fixes the problem. Again, that's the lovely office for you. They say they are "here for you", they are there for an 8 hour paycheck, plus commesion, collect your rent check, and ignore you. I kick myself everyday for moving here and will not renew my lease, in fact it would be worth it to break my lease and get out now.

Take a hard look at the buildings, grounds, staff before you decide to move here. This place is no different then the terrible apartment complex next door. The Village at Lake Wylie is just a different color and more expensive.

Agree with the poster. It is my SOLE OPINON and PERSONAL EXPERIENCE that the staff will smile to your face and as soon as you turn your back will throw mud all over you. It shows what caliber of people they are, if you have something to say, say it to the residents face, only a coward and a drama queen/king would run their mouth behind another persons back. Either that or their lives are so pathetic that they have to stick their noses into other's people business.
