. . . too many large dogs either running loose without leashes, or leashed by women/children who can't control them. If you have a smaller dog this represents a problem when you walk your dog, as the large dogs think the entire complex is their "territory". In fact, this problem has even been noticed by residents who do not even own a dog!

Alexan sold the complex about a year ago and the new management is not as responsive. They apparently do not patrol the property as they did not know that renters at one townhome were trying to run a used-car business out of their apartment when there were 8-10 old-looking cars with white writing all over them in the parking lot. I'm embarrased when my friends and family come over laughing and shaking their heads at the multitude of junky cars, kids going up and down the road in ATVs, and the poor German Shepherd tied up in front of the garage, all belonging to these entrepreneurs. Because of these renters, my particular street does not look like it belongs to a luxury complex. I lived at another luxury place for three years and these types of problems never occurred there; they simply would not have allowed it on Daniel Island.

On the good side, the apartments are sound-proofed well. There's a lot of parking and the complex is in a very convenient location to a good grocery store, a Starbucks, drug stores, lots of cute little shops. The location and apartment quality inside is why I moved here to begin with. If the management could keep the wild big dogs and redneck neighbors under control, it'd be perfect. However, if these things don't change I will not be renewing my lease.
