Deteriorating Quality of Life Here

I wrote a review back in July of '05. Since then, things have gotten worse.

1) It is nearly impossible to get repairs done around here, sometimes even when the problem is one of structural integrity. I wonder what the owners of the complex would think of the staff's careless attitude toward the upkeep of their property.

Worse, today one of the maintenance staff *entered my home while I was at work, without prior notice*, to do some minor painting. They won't fix the leaky windows and front door, which let water pour through in heavy rain, but a paint touch-up *two months* after fixing a leak is doable. I have a changing schedule, and creepily, this guy saw me leave for work. I have repeatedly told the office not to allow anyone in my home when I am not there. About a year ago, this same guy tried to enter through my bedroom French doors, WHILE I WAS ASLEEP, when he couldn't get in the front door because of the privacy lock. Again, this attempted entry was without prior notification.

Additionally, I have needed a new blind since the fall of '04, when we had a hurricane and a tropical storm and water poured in through the front windows, ruining the blind with rust stains. It looks awful. I've been trying to get it replaced since then. My neighbor needs a screen on his window and has been asking since last July.

2)Noise -- a new guy has moved in upstairs who either weighs 600 lbs. or is running a bowling alley up there. No kidding -- there's a hard, rolling noise. That with a dog and little kid running back and forth, and this man's heavy footsteps at all hours of the night, even at 1:00 am, have wakened my neighbor out of a deep sleep and precluded normal conversation at my house. There's also bad construction noise from the condos going up across the street.

3) My 16-lb. dog was attacked last week, without provocation, by a vicious German Shepherd -- another big dog accompanied by a woman who couldn't control him. She didn't even apologize. This type of incident is an ongoing problem. I've ordered bear pepper spray for protection.

4) I concur with the other reviewers who accuse the staff of incompetence and an uncaring, lackadaisical attitude. There is no point in notifying them about anything, because nothing is ever done. Not just big things, but little things too, like trying to grill out on the gas grills only to find that all four of the gas tanks are empty.

5)On the bright side, the junkyard is gone because the empty lot and parking spaces the guy used have been taken by the condominium construction. Note that it's not gone because management did anything about it.

Why am I still here' Two reasons: I don't really have the money to move right now and my boyfriend lives right next door in a corporate apartment. But he, and his coworkers, are all planning a move because of disatisfaction with how things are run here. Qlkxv6lfLuuXn3BrtpO7

Do you have anything better to do? Maybe if you spend less time writing lengthy complaints and more time making a little extra money, you could afford to move and be happy. Would you really pepper spray someone else's dog? You have now given me two reasons not to move here: poor managment and whiny uptight neighbors.

stop-06 and unhappy249 must be working for the management company....rent here can be as much as to rent a single family home, however some people due to busy lives don't need the hassle of maintaining a place, so they pay the above average rent and expect the place to be properly maintained...not to get the run around by the "management" funny how they don't mention the unacceptable and illegal actions of the maintainance worker...i hope the tenant called the police!!!!!

I looked at this complex recently. Their solution to large dogs running loose? Just don't allow anyone to have a dog! A decent management would have simply laid down rules for tenant behavior and taken appropriate action when those rules were violated. Instead, they just "don't want to deal with it."
