The "Darby Difference" Must be low expectations

When we first came to view the apartments, I should have noticed the red flags waving in front of my face. First, the assistant property manager (he was different) wasn't very accommodating. He was rude. Second, I noticed that the tennis court wasn't available and was covered so you couldn't see into it. Wondered about that. Everything else seemed ok. Wasn't too impressed with the apartments, we needed a place to stay.
When we finally moved in, I wanted to cry! It wasn't what we had asked for and I believe we were given the worst possible apartment! The staff said that they change out the carpets prior to anyone moving in - WRONG! They hadn't even looked as if they'd been cleaned. The drawers (bathrooms, kitchens, everywhere) are warped. The place smells of mold - I have a lot of scented candles and it still smells like mold. I haven't noticed any crown moldings - they must be in other apartments.
The apartment looked dirty, and still does - no amount of cleaning makes this place sparkled like it should! The tiled bathrooms (some don't have tiles - I got the short stick of the deal) have mold. That won't go away. I've complained and barely anything was done about it. Thanks.
Oh, yeah, the assistant who was rude to us before left, and was replaced by another assistant who's just as rude, if not, ruder! Ask to speak to the property manager herself, before speaking with the assistant. She's a -----.
We have bugs everywhere. They don't seal the windows or door very well. So we keep getting spiders and palmetto bugs. They spray about every 3 months but it doesn't do much. It's so gross having a palmetto bug flying at you in your kitchen in the am!
The tennis court is actually where they store the landscaping machinery. They landscape Mondays, and every day after still looks like crap.
I say they should renovate or just tear down the place and start over.
