A month and some ago I decided to take a peek at River Oaks. I thought it looked nice. My fiance had gone previously on his day off without me to view one of their units. I think the girl's name was Erin who showed the unit. My fiance had told the staff that I would be stopping by later the next day to view the unit. I walked into the office to see one girl sitting at a desk with (I believe to be) future tennants and another checking her Yahoo mail. She waited to finish reading it, then proceeded to close the window and assist me. Strike one. I explained that my fiance had stopped by the day before to look at unit #XXXX. I expected her (like the girl that showed my fiance around) to accompany me to the unit. Instead she asked for my I.D. and handed me the keys while she proceeded to ask me if I knew where it was. When I said "no" she gave me directions! I guess I was on my own to view the complex and our potential unit. Strike two. So I take a stroll through the complex. There was trash overflowing the disposal area and it was horribly stinky. I passed multiple units that had barking dogs on their porches, and to top it off I ended up stepping in dog poop. It is everywhere and horribly stinky. I did a walk thru the unit and it was nice, but after considering the unprofessional girl in the office that was not only more focused on her internet adventure but snobby as well, I knew I didn't want to stay in a place that I was sure I couldn't count on the staff for anything I needed. When I returned the keys she handed me my I.D. and said "thanks". Turned around and walked away. Strike three. All I can say is stay away unless you feel like dealing with an unprofessional staff. Granted, I only spoke to one employee, but either way, what does that say about the people they employ there'
