I had lived there for a year and really liked the size of my apt. I was really annoyed by the insect problem though. In the summer I had wasps on my screened porch and breeze way and several palmetto bugs inside. Mold is also a problem, but don't ask the staff to take care of it because you will just be told to use bleach. I know of two other tennents that had mold issues, including one who had her mattress destroyed by mold with no action taken by the staff.
I was particularly alarmed by an incident where the staff mixed up apartment numbers and let an exterminator into my apt without permission. I had left some credit card statements out on the table because I was paying bills the night before and I was so pleased that the maintaiance man got to see my panties on the bathroom floor. He was also so kind as to leave my toilet seat up for me when he was done using it. I thought my apt had been broken into, but the staff just shrugged it off. It's also glorious to wake on a Saterday morning to the sounds of hammering and large trucks backing up at 7:30.

First of all its spelled S A T U R D A Y. Secondly, it's the South Carolina coast and you live on the Wando River. Mold is typical as are bugs. Palmetto bugs are part of living near the coast in South Carolina and are harmless so expect them, kill them and move on. I will say that the River Oaks staff is worthless so get used to it.
