I have had the miserable experience of living in Harbor Pointe "Luxury" apartments for 11 months and 3 weeks: only 2 weeks to go and I am outta here! I want to tell you we are impeccably clean people: our apartment is spotless inside because we take care of it. But the place is an absolute dump. The dog owners allow their dogs to crap all over the place, and the management says there is nothing that they can do. Our mailbox is on the other side of the property and we have to walk across "poo-poo field" to get there, and watch where we step.

They never run the trash compactor enough and bags of smelly garbage just sit all over the place, most of them torn apart by animals.

We had a large family of squirrels living in our ceiling last winter and the noise of them running around drove us crazy all night. When we asked management to take care of the problem, we were told that proper pest removal was too expensive. Soon after, there was a dead rat in our kitchen (caught in the dishwasher) and when we called maintenance to clean it up, the person on call said "Not again!" (because there was another dead rat in an apartment!)

Some of the buildings were built on a smaller budget than others and the floor of the people above us is right on our ceiling, so every single step the people above us take is magnified, not muffled.

The sunroom is useless: it is five thousand degrees in the summer and sub-zero in the winter. That makes for electricity bills over $100 every month.

Also, the management told us that the pipes are too close to the surface or something, so we never have cold water. It is always warm, which makes it difficult to do laundry without all of the colors bleeding.

When our refrigerator broke one evening, the maintenance guy on call told us that we needed to get a cooler and ice.

The dorm that I lived in while in college was quieter.

It has been one headache after another. Save yourself the trouble: live somewhere else.
