I moved into Harbor Pointe recently. Thankfully we did a short term lease because I am very displeased with this apt complex.

The pros include GREAT location right over the bridge, easy commute to downtown, plenty of parking, spacious units, fast response to work orders.

The cons....LOTS of bugs. I spend my entire day picking up bugs. Even after they came out and spray it does not help! I am also battling huge roaches. They seem to be all over outside the property (and finding their way inside) and I am sure it will only get worse with the summer months coming.

Another huge con is the trash situation. There is one trash dumpster for all of the complex. You have to drive your trash there and then go up a flight of steps to throw it into the dumpster. There is no parking by the dumpster so you just have to double park, run out, and hope your car isn't hit. It is so inconvenient that people tend to accumulate their trash and set it outside in the common hallway to attract even more roaches. I saw my neighbor load about 7 bags of trash and pizza boxes into his truck the other day. They do offer a trash collection service for an additional $5 per month.

Outside is old, peeling, and not well maintained. The heating/ac unit is old as is the plumbing. The first month here my toilet overflowed three times, my garbage disposal backed up, and the heater which is set to 70 can't seem to warm the place up above 65. I am dreading getting my electric bill.

There are lots of dogs here but owners seem to be very responsible in picking up and controlling their dogs. The noise level is moderate. I do hear my neighbors walking around upstairs but that's about it.

All in all, I am sure there is better out there for your money. IMHO...look elsewhere.
