I lived in Harbor Pointe for about 6 months and that was the worst time of my life. The worst problems I had were with BUGS. We had MANY roaches - maybe 2 a day. There were huge and everywhere...on our ceilings, under our toaster, in our shoes, etc. They were so big and you could see their droppings all over the apt. We tried to tell the office but they would half-a$$ spray the apt and it wouldn't help. I do not think I slept one full night the whole time I lived there. We also had rolly polly bugs. We would pick up an average of 15 per day of those. We would also get the occasional slug in the apt.
If this isn't bad enough the place is run down (rotting wood and mold) and the toilet kept over-flowing. The neighbors would leave their trash bags outside of their apartment doors since the dumpster was a drive away and it was ALWAYS full.
The one positive of this apartment complex was its location. It was right over the bridge (just 5 mins to downtown charleston) and was right near grocery stores, jogging trails, etc.
In Harbor Pointe's defense a friend of mine also lived in the same complex (different section) and did not have the roach problem we did. She had a small problem with flies but not roaches (she did have 2 cats so maybe that is why).
All in all, you are taking a major risk in renting here. I would stay away!!
