I lived at Riverwood apartments under a one year lease, at the time the rent seemed reasonable, even with no washer and dryer. At the close of the term, I opted to go month to month, for a fifty dollar extra charge. During the course of the next year and a half, the management continued to raise the rent three times. One change was about three months after a rather large increase. The terms of my lease allowed for a month to month, but DID NOT SPECIFY that month to month renters had to pay $50.00 more than the CURRENT rental rate. Be very aware of that if you do not intend to renew your lease.
While Mount Pleasant may be a desired area, Riverwood is NOT a new community. My apartment had a hole in the wall behind the stove that went to the other apartment. I could hear my neighbors talking through the floors. Again, no washer and dryer and the laundry facilities weren't well maintained and required quarters. The appliances were old, my air conditioner leaked coolant so every year I had to call in for repair.
The rental management supports the pricing based upon other rents in the area, but Riverwood isn't on the high end of the niceness spectrum. I will say that the location is very nice, but that is just luck notgood property management.
