As an active duty Naval Officer I have been stationed in the Charleston area and I lived in the Legends for 18 months. During my stay I had heard complaints from tenants that during move out, management would always find a way to nickle and dime charges until all of the security deposit was gone. I sure wish I would've knew about the reviews and this webite before I moved in. I spent a full day cleaning and my place was immaculate. Yes, the typical nail holes in the wall type of stuff AND I also had one stain from a plant that I was told several times would just be patched as it was in the corner. Upon move out, I walked through the space and was given a $75.00 to $100 estimate for the plant stain. Fine I said. Also, I was hit for hanging a towel or robe hangar with the self-adhesive tabs on the back of the bathroom door. Estimate to fix by sanding and repainting was $25.00. Fine again I said. A month later I get a letter from the Legends saying there were bleach stains all over the carpet and the whole carpet had to be replaced. I have been trying to get a call in and get a better explanation for almost a week now........ problem is, management won't call me back. Where there's smoke, there's fire and all the rumors I had heard about them always keeping the security deposit seems to be true. The place is nice, please understand that, which is theme you will see throughout thise site. The walls are thin and you will know everything about your neighbors as they I'm sure will know about you. That's apartment living I guess and not much can be done about that. Unfortunately, the other trend you will see is management's behavior and tendancy to manage a way to beat you out of every cent.
