Where shall I begin'! Moving to Myrtle Beach was something I have wanted to do for about 2 years now, & finally when I was given the opportunity to do so, I was quickly devastated!!! Why' I leased an apartment at Flintlake. May I add before writing any more that Angela and Chrissy in the leasing office are very helpful and put forth an effort when problems do arise. However, management and maintence are terrible!!! Of course I was very anxious to move to Myrtle Beach, who wouldn't be!!' I found Flintlake Apartments online & they seemed to be well kept and clean so I gave them a call & they faxed all the application information to me and later I was accepted. When arriving to the property I have to admit I WAS impressed at first until I saw dead bugs on the floor of the apartment that I was going to be living in. The employee who showed the apartment to us informed us that Terminex had just sprayed and that the apartment had sat vacant for a while but it was nothing to be concerned about so stupidly we signed the lease any way. HUGE MISTAKE!!! While moving all of my belongings in I noticed inside the closets that there were mice droppings, I became concerned so I checked other places inside the apartment and there too were mice droppings such as in: the water heater closet, behind the washer and dryer, and even inside the kitchen cabinets!!!(DISCUSTING!!) We let the management know about this nasty discovery and they informed us that maintence would come and clean up the droppings. The only service we ever saw was the Terminex guy who set out mice traps and who also informed us that pet mice had been let out inside the apartment from a previous tenant!!.......no maintence.......no clean up!!! So what did we do........we cleaned up the "rat poop"!!! About a week later I was reaching for a glass in the cabinet and there was a roach staring right at me! The next day my fiancee and I saw 2 more roaches, one on the kitchen sink and one even in the bedroom!!!! Again management was called and again Terminex came. Only 3 days after Terminex had sprayed, a closed double-window filled with at least 500 ants is what we arrived home to. We ourselves sprayed Raid and left the ants there, we had become fed up!! We covered the windows with plastic and began looking for another place to reside. We were not going to clean up this time!!! We were told by a rude manager that these occurences were not grounds for terminating a lease. Hummmm I wonder if she lives with insects and mice droppings''' Any way the point I am trying to get accross to you who are looking for an apartment, PLEASE do not be fooled and tricked into a lease with Flintlake. Save yourself the anger and money(breaking a lease can put you out some major$$$$$$). Keep looking!!!Because there ARE better & well-maintained apartments in Myrtle Beach. Don't get into a big hurry like we did. I hear Savannah Shores Apartments are wonderful!!! If I didn't care I wouldn't have taken the time to write all of this to save maybe you some heartache!





HINT----Watch your feet and nose at Flintlake you will probably smell & step in "dog poop" because of the lacking of residents not cleaning up after their pets! Alot of "college kids" live at Flintlake too if that tells you anything.

Ceiling fan doesn't work, parking is a pain, and move in is terrible! You have to walk a pretty long distance from the parking lot to some of the apartments therefore moving in your belongings can be quite difficult!

Excellent review that is dead on accurate. My wife and I were researching apartments online and saw Fintlake's website and advertisments and were impressed. THANKFULLY we drove down from NC and viewed several properties before signing anything, Fintlake Apartments are NOTHING like you would expect. There are THUGS hanging out everywhere! It looks like a GETTO!! Very Scary. My Wife and I thought we would get car-jacked just driving through the property!! We got out of there as fast as we could and THANKED GOD we did not live there. No Way do you want to live in Flintlake.
