It's an apartment... not perfect, but adequate.

Just like most apartments, Savannah Shores over-promises and under-delivers. Don't believe that everything they say to get you to sign a lease will happen, or that the timeframe for those improvements/changes will be remotely accurate.
It is a very nice looking gated community, and the staff in place upon move-in was very friendly and helpful. Turnover seems to be very high, and the current staff is terrible.
The building that I am in is very quiet (mixture of retirees and young professionals), never had a noise problem other than an occassional person stumbling up the steps late at night or the neighbor above me walking around in heels. Other buildings are not so quiet, many white-trash types with several unsupervised kids.
Parking is fine near my buiding, I've got two vehicles and my neighbors seems to know which spots I like, leaving them available for me when I go out. Many other buildings have cars parking on the islands, pulled up on curbs, etc, detracting from the otherwise fairly well-kept grounds. The current management seems to ignore these types of offenses... many people (that are obviously not handicapped) are even repeatedly seen parking in handicapped spots with nothing ever done.
Pets are readily accepted, which is both good and bad. Most pet-owners are mindful and pick up after their pets, but there are others with huge dogs that leave huge piles littered about. I hear many dogs barking when I pass other buildings walking my dog, so noise from them could be an issue in some buildings.
The location can't be beat... easy access to 22 and 31 make getting around a breeze even during bike week, and you're only a couple minutes from one of the best beaches on the Strand (at the Hilton).
Overall, I would recommend Savannah Shores, simply because no apartment complex will ever be perfect... Savannah Shores is far from perfect, but it is above-average when compared to any other apartment complex that I've been to in Myrtle. If you are planning to move to Savannah Shores, just be careful about what building you get into... a look about the parking lot in front of the building and a visit at night should tell you what you need to know.
