I moved into SeaGrove in 2005 and signed a year lease. I explained to the new management that I was possibly going to have to leave in 6 months to go back home for a job transfer. Mike said as long as I gave them 30 days notice, I would be "released" from my lease. (Mike never once told me I had the option of a six month lease, which I would have taken). A month before my departure date I sent a letter to the office giving them 30 days notice that I was leaving. Well, a year later, I get a knock at the door from a sherrif handing me papers that I had been served from Sea Grove! To my surprise, they were suing me for a two months rent!!! After calling the lawyers who were strong arming me for the beach company, i was told I either paid it or went to court. I opted not to pay and they put a lein on my house! Anyway long and short of it, the management company is extremely unprofessional run by kids out of college, with obviously no real estate experience nor any interpersonnel skills. I feel bad for anyone who moves in there, the neighbors are nosey, the management is undeserving and liars and for the rent your paying you can get into a much nicer place (try Ashley Park Apartments!)

Same scenario in which I find myself now. When I explained that I never received a copy of the lease they said they left a slip of paper on my door asking if I wanted a copy.... What was explained to me at the time of signing was that it would cost 1400 to break the lease. Well it turns out its just a 1000 more since I had a special promo "move-in special". When I told them it was not explained to me...the management stated that if they something misleading or leave something out...then they are covered by a disclaimer in the contract....a disclaimer I wouldnt even know about cause I didnt get a copy of the lease!!! Live and learn...and I learned this place is not what they make it out to be!!
