Enjoyed our stay...

Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2006
My husband & I moved here from Maine in 2004 and we absolutely loved it here! We found Alexander Springs on a web search and from the moment I contacted them about an apartment, the staff (particularly Opal) was great! We requested a ground floor apartment & they had no problem accommodating our needs. When we arrived in Myrtle Beach, we found the complex & grounds a very pleasant surprise. Amenities offered were a gym, laundry room, & a pool as well as volleyball and tennis.
Parking during the school year (college kids & their cars) could be a problem sometimes, but nothing we couldn't deal with until they all left at the end of the school year.
With apartment living, it is never completely quiet and one has to expect a certain level of noise. The only aggravating noise we heard constantly was when the upstairs toilet flushed - it sounded like a leak in the walls!
Any time we needed something fixed or repaired, it would get done within a day or two at the most. If not, a follow-up call to the office would take care of it. The Maintenance staff were always pleasant.
Children running around unattended were a concern, especially when they would dart out into the road, but otherwise, we never had any problems. The office would always put fliers in the newsletter asking parents to be attentive to their kids. Ultimately, it's the parents, not the office staff, who need to monitor the children.
We always felt safe living there, but I would like to see them install lighting behind the buildings on the far side of the complex.
We liked the peace and quiet while living there and just bought & moved into our own home in Conway. Had we not bought our own home, we would still be living there. We found the rent to be within reason (cheap compared to where we used to live in the northeast!) and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend Alexander Springs to anyone who asks us for a decent place to live in Myrtle Beach. My only regret is that we didn't live there long enough to see construction on Gardner Lacey Road completed!
