I am not really sure where to start...there are so many things to mention. Well, another rating here mentioned the playground being destroyed by the older (teenage) children. That didn't get any better. There are parts of the playground that are now missing or have been repaired so many times that they seem unsafe for the children. The rules for the playground are clearly posted at the entrance, but the teenagers either read the rules and don't care, can't read the rules, or think that they are 6 and under (which at times, 6 years old is TOO OLD for how they behave). We had teenagers sitting on cars, throwing rocks in the parking lot, making car alarms go off at odd hours of the night, groups of them running around being loud at all hours of the night and early morning. The teenagers unsupervision was the biggest problem here. The staff was notified by myself and several neighbors, and the problems were not taken care of until months later, and even then, they were not taken care of in a satisfactory way, as the problems still continued, just not as often. The response time to problems was unreasonable. In defense of the other party, there isn't really anything here for the teenagers to do, or a place for them to "hang out," except for in their own apartments, so I do see a need for something for them, but it still doesn't excuse their blatant disregard for the rules here. Also, I had some maintenance issues that were NEVER taken care of. I called several times, left notes in the box, and still got no response to the maintenance needs. Several issues that I would call the office about, they would take down my name and number and say that they would get back to me, and never did...even after calling multiple times. Move-out time was a whole new set of problems as the move-out procedures were not made clear. Plans that had been made by my family and I to get us moved out of here and into another place had to be boggled and rearranged to suit the purposes of the rules of the place, which were never given to us. I couldn't even get a move-out inspection on my move-out date! Whew...there were many problems, and I would not recommend this place to anyone.

It sounds as though someone is unfairly taking there frustrations out on the staff. I have nothing but good things to say about the staff at The Abbey at Ridgewood Plantation (formerly Alexander Springs). Everytime I have had a problem, it has been taken care of promptly! Of coarse I do not call the office, I go into the office a speak to the staff. If I have a maintenance issue, I fill out a maintenance request form and it is quickly taken care of! I too have on occasion experienced problems with the older kids being loud, that happens at any apartment property. I know the staff has put a few things in place to take care of this occasional problem and penalizes the teens and their parents. As far as not knowing the move out proceedures, I was given a contract upon moving into the apartments; everything is spelled out within the contract. I have lived here almost 3 years and am very pleased! I highly recommend this property and praise the staff for their professionalism and their courtesy! Ignorance on the part of the renter is not a reason to blast the staff or give the property a low rating!

I'm sorry golfbirdie, but I'm not an ignorant renter. These things happened just as I spelled out. I have young children and am not able to go over to the office to talk to the staff face to face each time I needed to. There were times that I did and times that my husband did, but it didn't change anything. I'm not taking frustrations out on the staff...the staff heard my complaints, heard my requests on maintenance, and did not act. I know of several other renters there that have had the same problems. I was never given a copy of my contract. Am I supposed to remember for the entire time of my stay what my contract said, page for page for page for page??? None of the problems that I encountered were because of my "ignorance" of the rules. I called the MANAGERS who are to take care of those problems when the problems arose...isn't that what we were encouraged to do? Anyway, it was what I was encouraged to do...
