Great place to be in North Charleston

I love my apartment for many reasons: the floorplan (well thought-out and plenty of room), the roomy porch, ample storage, preferred employer discount, and a walk-in closet in my bedroom.
The issues that I have with the place are minor: the kitchen cabinets are meant for people just a bit taller then myself(I'm 5'4''), the wall paper in the bathroom is not to my taste, and the exterior lights need to turn on at dusk rather then dark. The biggest issue that I have is the cockroaches. I have had to ask the bug guy to come a couple times. Lucky, he visits the complex every week. (I am from up north and seeing just one baby cockroach makes me crazy.)
In my experiences with the staff, I have found them to be the fake-friendly type. It often feels like they don't really care about you, BUT they ALWAYS get the job done quickly. The one time that I called in for maintenance, it was done while I was at work that day and to my surprise the mess that I created trying to fix the problem was cleaned up.
When my lease is up I will be moving. While I love my apartment and the complex, you know what they say: location, location, location - and as far as I am concerned it could be better. Farrinton Place is 20 minutes to Isle of Palms, 20 minutes to downtown. I am moving closer to the beach, closer to downtown. Also, I don't like shopping in the area (despite the abundance of stores). I don't feel comfortable with the population that frequents most of the stores. I drive to Goose Creek to do my grocery shopping. I wish that I could uproot my apartment to Mount Pleasant, but unfortunately it doesn't work that way.
