Before you move here call the police dept and ask them about the complex. There are apartments that they have boarded up instead of repairing and renting out. People break in, squat, and trash the place and management does nothing. As a matter of fact mgmt doesn't do anything. Live in a bottom floor apt - better hope your upstairs neighbors hot water heater never goes out. The one above ours did - took them a week to fix. Yes, it rained in our hallway for a week as they took their time to fix. When maintance 1st came I told them that the water heater went out. He went upstairs stuck his head in his ass, came back down and said water heater was fine, that the resident was just taking a very long shower and tub was leaking.

If you decide to live there better hope you have decent neighbors - yes there are some very good people here but not the majority. Office will do nothing to stop people from leaving trash on the balcony dripping down on your belongings. Don't bother trying to knock on neighbor's door to tell them to get their lazy asses up and take their trash to the dumpster. Either they won't hear you over the blasting radio playing a scratched CD, pretend they don't hear you knocking, or won't speak english.

I've made the mistake of having my family here for way too long. I put up with the maintenance issues and management only because of the cheap rent but rent ain't so cheap anymore and crime has skyrocketed in the last few months. In all the years I've lived here I've felt fairly safe with my family up until a few months ago. Remember call North Charleston Police before you go to rent an apartment there. If you move move there make sure you get a big dog and people see you walk it.

I could say much more but hopefully I got my point across with what I've said so far. One last thing ... I clicked no laundry facilities - there are washers and dryers in each building but they never work right.
