Revise Early Lease Policy

The apartments are very nice, but make sure you reread the lease concerning the early lease termination very carefully. At a late date, I received a better job opportunity. I informed the leasing agent and she was able to find someone else to move in my apartment before the lease was up. I left the apartment in better cleaning condition then when I moved in and the new tenant was able to move in with no lag time. When I asked if they could apply my security deposit to the lease termination fee and allow me to pay the difference, the developer/owner said no. Despite the fact that the owner/developer stated I was a 'model' tenant for nearly three years and that my apartment was in excellent shape upon my leaving, he was unwilling to make such a concession which meant I would have to pay 730 dollars to get a refund of 300 dollars.

The owner/developer should review the early lease policy to either allow tenants if they wish to apply their security deposit towards the 730 early lease termination policy and IF they are able to rent the unit within a specified time period, perhaps NOT charge an early lease termination at all especially because they would not lose money. The owner/developer's stance has left a negative impression, but the complex itself is very nice. vWhRVi5nYYIuEh4W7K3l

i think maybe they should review the early/termination clause as a precaution because many apartments in big cities do this and they do not lose any profits.
