We like it!

Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2007
We moved here nearly 4 months ago. We moved from Northern VA where it's $500/month more for an apartment, so it's a good price range for us.. but I think a little high for the area. The move-in fees were minimal for us, but we moved in during a special and got a great deal. (We paid more in deposits for electricity, cable, etc)
The noise is moderate, and a little louder than other apartments we have been in, but you expect some noise in an apartment. We hear the toilet above us flushing and it sounds like the water is coming through our walls, but again, it's apartment living.
The staff is overall very friendly!
Residents ignore the traffic circle and stop signs and I don't know that the staff is enforcing that as much as they can, but they have only so much control. I agree with the other review that the computer room shuts down too early. All our prior apartments had them open 24-hours/day because you have to have a key/card to get into them. These should be no different since you have a card here.
The biggest downfall I have found is having only a washer/dryer hookup especially for the price, but I guess we were spoiled in VA/DC-Metro area that they all have them included there.
We are in the new phase and love the ceiling fans in the BR's and the built-in microwave. We also have a pantry & linen closet and the layout of the apartment in general is great... lots of open space and we love the screened porch.
No problems with the grounds except the residents don't use the compacter on the dumpster and don't pick up after pets around the doggy bag station! (Management has noticed and placed warnings about the consequences!) The grass is kept tidy, nice trees, shrubs are well maintained and walkways are always clear.
Overall I'd recommend it. (I looked at another comparable complex nearby and their buildings are multiple two-tone colors!)
Update: 6/19/2008 - We renewed our lease after the first year, for another 6 months. We are currently deciding whether to renew again, but only because of personal/family reasons. We have had NO problems still, and it's been nearly 18 months here. The people above us have a child who stomps all the time, but that's not a management or apartment problem. The noise is, at times, a little loud when she stomps, but that's part of apartment living! We have only had one maintenance request and it was handled immediately. I think it was the next day that they were out, and it was something that wasn't dire anyway.. but they handled it with no problems. I am not sure why folks posted that one pool is always closed here... We go nightly and the main pool is always open - last year one was closed frequently because of residents throwing beer bottles, chairs, mulch, etc., in the pool after hours. The staff has always been extremely friendly to us.. never any problems. I wonder where the other, unhappy, recent posters lived before - if this is the worst place, I wanna go where they were before! We have seen 2 roaches, only in the bathroom, never any problems with parking, don't hear the side neighbors, only the upper one like stated before.
I'd definately recommend this place to anyone, still! Just remember, do your homework. See the place, check it out for yourself and ask residents who live there... if you can. Also - our rent did not increase on our previous renewal and will not on this one, as long as we sign 6 months. qmzu4EHcaGAPVCPw2Fai
