I just moved to South Carolina and needed a cheap apt. while waiting for my house to sell. Had I read these reiews prior to moving into Gable Oaks I would have passed. But I have to say it doesn't seem as bad as these reviews say.

The rent is cheap, my apartment is small (rented a 1 bedroom - 540 sq. ft) but very clean, and very quiet. The only noise I have heard is one night the neighbor above was banging and it woke me up - I asked him to stop and he did. I think he may have been moving out. I have not heard my neighbors, children or garbage trucks. Very quiet. I have also not seen ANY bugs of any kind in my apartment.

The staff is very friendly and I put in a request to have the knobs on my stove replaced because the numbers were worn off it was done the very next day. I also reported trouble with the washing machine change despenser and it was fixed the same day.

The only children I have seen or heard have been by the pool which has been open and clean and they all seem to be supervised and well behaved.

I would say that I would definitely recommend these apartments to someone looking for something cheap. They are not brand new lavish apartments - but they have fresh paint, decent flooring and they are clean. At least mine was.
