Better than my old studio, but turned sour fast.

I was here when this place was known as "The Seville Apartments" back in the mid 1990's. Things started out great when I moved here from my ratty studio apartment up the street across from the Shrine Club. Roomy and clean apartment with nice carpets and paint. Low noise levels, which was important because I was a third-shift day-sleeper at the time. No maintenance issues and construction quality seemed good, but getting rid of an infestation of Japanese hornets from a bush along my apartment walkway required several calls to the front office. Reasonable rent rates. Parking acceptable, but too many trashy looking cars around. Pool was kept clean, but the area surrounding it had an unattractive cheap motel look with its wire fence. Too far away from basic businesses; the closest "grocer" is a gas station/convenience store across the street. The laundry facilities worked well, but getting there required a hilly hike. What turned me off the most is how fast the place quickly got overrun by some very scuzzy people from poorer outside complexes next door; walking through, sneaking into the pool area, etc. I knew that the thug element had taken over when I came out one weekday morning to find my car (ONLY mine) sprayed with graffiti from end to end. Management was shocked and apologetic to me, but by then I was determined to leave. Might as well let the Martians have the planet, so I thought. Bottom line: it's a roof over your head and clean carpet underfoot, but watch your back....and your car.
