When we first moved in, the townhouse was filthy. The carpeting had stains all over it and scorch marks from where it had caught fire. We found drug paraphernalia in one of the bathroom drawers. Roaches were crawling everywhere: on the ceilings, walls, countertops, floors, and even the bathtub. This continued throughout our stay. Twice, roaches crawled up my leg in the kitchen, once across my arm while lying in bed, and once across my face as I was lying on my sofa.

The electrical wiring is seriously faulty. A third of the electrical outlets didn't work; another third worked, but the wires weren't grounded, and the outlets were sticking out of the walls. The wire to one of the light switches wasn't grounded, and it shocked me three times before I remembered not to touch it again. The biggest inconvenience was that NONE of the electrical outlets in the kitchen worked. We had to string extension cords from the dining room into the kitchen just to use the microwave and coffeemaker.

The noise is annoying. The walls are paper thin, and you can hear everything your neighbors are doing and saying, as well as being able to hear everything outside.

The management is terrible. The manager doesn't live onsight, and it seems that very little gets done except the lawn. When we complained about the roaches, the manager assured us that the complex is exterminated once a week. Maybe so, but they were still crawling into bed with me at night. We complained about the electrical wiring four times our first month there, and everytime we were told, "Probably not to day, but definately tomorrow." No one came and no one called. It was never fixed.

These townhomes may be "cheap," but they come at a heavy price. A price not worth paying.
