This apartment complex is very deceiving. When you first move in everything is wonderful and honky-dory...after you live here for a while you realize what perverts the maintenance staff is and what a ----- the manager Sally is. Melanie is the best thing Riverwind has going for it, well the pool is nice too! If you are thinking about living here PLEASE reconsider!! A friend of ours came to visit one night and his car was vandelized and Sally treated like it was our fault that this happenend and all she was worried about was how fast we could clean up the mess...even though it was 8 in the morning and it was also exam week. She was going to charge our apartment if it wasn't cleaned promptly because there were new residence moving in and she didn't want to give them a bad impression. Big deal! There was over $2,000 in damage done to the car and if there was better security then we wouldn't have had this problem in the first place, so be warned!

Car break-ins can happen anywhere, even if you own a home. Apartment communities make no disclaimer or implied guaranties of safety. The only "safety" item that communities are required to have is a deadbolt on your front door. Gated communities are the worst - they lure you into a false sense of security. It's not Riverwind's fault. If you keep valuables in your car, it's your own fault. As far as cleaning goes - that is expected of the tenant upon moveout.
