I'd wanted to live here ever since my days at a nearby college in the early 90's, and I got my wish in '96. What a great choice. In a nutshell: Management was attentive, responsive and knew my name when I came around. Rent was reasonable. Parking wasn't vast but still adequate. A diverse group of neighbors (many older retirees with a few college kids here and there) who were friendly, respected others' property and the need for peace and quiet. Outside the grounds, all necessities (drugstores, groceries, restaurants, etc.) are within easy walking distance; literally next door or across the street. The east Spartanburg neighborhood where this complex lies seemed so safe that I frequently took exercise walks at 1:00am there! The grounds were clean and well-kept with many shade trees. Yes, more shade than sun, but it's flattering to the place, cuts the cooling bills, and there's enough sun around the pool area to satisfy most people. Speaking of the pool, depth hounds can rejoice 'cause it goes down to EIGHT FEET. Hallelujah! No wimpy five-feet maximum depth that we're seeing too much of these days. The clubhouse was cozy and inviting, and the fitness room was small but the equipment worked well. Only negatives were that the Greenville News stopped delivery to its kiosk outside the mailboxes, a few too many squirrels running around, and the complex hot tub was frequently out of order...which might be just as well because it was often used by couples for hanky-panky. All in all, this was a great place to live and I'd return to it in a heartbeat if I was back in Spartanburg.
