Well I will write a response and I don't work at Vista Sands. I have lived here for two and a half years the first year and a half in apartment 407. I have never had anything stolen. I have never had my car damaged. I do recall one time when a car was broken into and the staff sending out a notice which was put on everyones door warning them of what had happened and to keep an eye out.
No matter where you live unless you have a giant fence and a pack of pitbulls within your COMPOUND, then you run the chance of something happening. My mother lives at the back of Weatherstone and is 71 years old. She comes home after dark, she waters her yard at dusk, and is all alone. Not once has she had problems either. While I'm sure that there have been issues there, Ravenel Properties does not tape papers to their residents doors telling them about it. I have family that lives in The Hamlets in Crowfield. Guess what' They have crime too. We have a crime watch team at Vista Sands and three or four police from different agencies as residents.
Now I can understand your anger if something you owned was damaged, but to blame a community is just silly. As for your referral of Farmington or Tradition, I'm sure anyone can access police reports ( see my other post ) which I might add are public record to see the crime reports.
As far as your issues with the parking lot and lights. Mine is lit up just fine and since I at times get off work at 3 am, I am able to park my car, enter my house and then walk my dog. The only thing that I would have to agree with you is this. Yes! Do your homework, investigate, check around, talk to people. Go to the local police department and look at the crime reports. Vista Sands was chosen Charleston's apartment community of the year, and that wasn't by the staff. The location is fabulous with the movies and stores so close by. If you have a teen that doesn't drive yet, it's great for the movies! Mine used to walk there all the time with his buddies. Free breakfast twice a month in the clubhouse. BBQ's and the list goes on. When you decide that you would like a copy of that notice you said never went out. Please let me know. I'm sorry that your experience wasn't perfect, but for the majority of us it is!
