We have lived at Westbury Mews for nearly 3 years and have had continual problems-the most recent being the new management. They have hired two women who are rude and clearly inept in their dealings with the public and with the maintenance. Not only has the condition of the apartments slowly deteriorated from the already poor quality of the materials used to build and repair each apartment, but the quality of the tenants has also taken a nose dive. I would not recommend these apartments to anyone, unless you enjoy linoleum which is peeling off the kitchen floor, caulking around the tub which peels off with one scrub from a cloth, water damage from above apartments, poor quality dry wall and paint, stains on the carpets which continue to resurface, being awaken by domestic disputes at 6am on a Saturday morning or being treated as though you're an inconvenience when you visit the office to simply pick up a package.
I strongly suggest you reconsider moving to Westbury Mews if you haven't already signed a lease (which, if you want to stay there, they will continue to raise your rent considerably with each new contract). The apartments are much too expensive as it is, without them raising the rent each time you sign a new lease.
The last complaint would be the way in which the management handled one late payment. The office decided they would close Monday, July 5, 2004 in honor of the 4th of July which was on a Sunday. I DO NOT drop off payments in a night drop box because:
1) What guarantee do I have that it will actually end up in the hands of management' They could lose the check and tell me that it's my fault and the payment is in fact late.
2) I choose not to walk past the pool area in which there are perverted men (which have been allowed by our new, classless management to move in) and be whistled at while they drink their budweisers and blast their Hank Williams Jr.
The following day (Tuesday, July 6th), I drove over there on my lunch break (which it takes 30 minutes to drive there and 30 to drive back, taking up my entire lunch break) to drop off my payment in person, and as I handed her the envelope, I immediately was treated with hostility. She was SO RUDE, rolled her eyes, and when I told her that as long as we had lived there we had NEVER BEEN LATE, she proceeded to ask me how long we had lived there. The fact that we had lived there almost 3 years had no bearing on her decision, because she had already made up her mind and charged us a 5% late fee. It was appalling! The management is awful at these apartments and I suggest looking elsewhere.
