The Chimneys, a 25-year-old apartment complex located adjacent to Greenville, South Carolina, is a quiet, well-maintained place to live. I have lived in two different one-bedroom apartments over the last five years. While there are nicer complexes, with a wider array of amenities, the Chimneys is among the most affordable and well-located offerings in Greenville.

If you are looking for a quiet, peaceful place to live, give the Chimneys a look.
I would only caution you to be aware of the maintenance of the aging facilities.
While the apartments recently underwent significant interior renovations (new kitchen and bath cabinetry, hardware, appliances), certain aspects have been overlooked. For example, higher-grade entry doors would make a big difference both in sound dampening and energy efficiency. Improved, updated lighting across the campus and in building hallways would also go a long way in increasing quality of living. Finally, a perimeter fence (of any sort) would help residents feel safer.

The staff of the Chimneys are available, friendly, and competent. Maintenance requests are completed in a reasonable period of time. The courtesy officer, when available, responds to noise and other violations in a fairly-timely manner.

All in all, the Chimneys is a good return on investment: you get what you pay for.
