Place is terrible. Did not get to see the apartment before I moved in, nor did the manager do the walk through with me. The floors dip, there is very little storage, the roaches have permanent residence (but don't pay rent), invest in Raid if you plan to move here. Management sends you notifications that maintenance has been completed when it hasn't been touched. GFI outlet in the bathroom was painted over so the switch could not be reset. Maintenance crew complains about the complex when they do come around to "fix" something (nothing gets fixed). Parking is terrible, grounds are filthy (litter everywhere). I just moved in a month ago and I am dreading living out my lease. Horrible place to live!

I truly understand where you are coming from. The maintenance crew says one thing and ------- and --- says another thing. We have been living here 5 years now and the property management has changed three times since we have lived here. The rent is totally to high for this place they call OUR home. We are moving and of course we are breaking our lease. We are to the point we really don't care. The water bill is never around the same each month. And we find out through maintenance that the water bill is not base on how much water we use per apartment, but how much water is used per unit and than that is divided between the units. We feel that is not fair at all, but ------- or --- will tell you the truth about that. There are much better places to live and the cost is much cheaper in the West Columbia area. They feel like this apartment complex is luxury and that is the least of what they pretended to be when we moved in. Of course 5 years is a long time to be out here, but within the past two years since management change and all the news rules this place is horrible. ----- was the BEST property manager this place ever had and she was NOT ONLY concerned with when YOUR RENT WILL BE PAID. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Sorry for your troubles within this complex. I am a real estate agent specializing in turning renters into homeowners. I have done it for 4 families in the last 2 months. Contact me and let me help you own your own property, not make your uncaring landlord richer. rferrell@cbunited.com

From the sounds of this post, you sound as if you are someone who has a difficult time paying her bills. Reading between the fine lines, who else would say the previous office manager did not only concerned about when YOUR RENT WILL BE PAID. You also are not that responsible of a person anytime you would break your lease. A lease, like credit cards, are binding agreements. You don't just spend the money, then decide the interest rate is too high, so you won't pay. I am looking forward to possibly moving in the first week of March, and am happy with what I have seen. Should it not live up to my expectations, I will do the responsible thing and finish out my lease before moving. The only thing I do not like is the fact that they will not let me see the home prior to moving in. That bothers me, but I know the homes are leased before the prior tenant moves out. I will have to accept or decline based on my values about seeing the home first. Nonetheless, ------- and --- has been extremely polite and professional towards both my husband and me. Bad and childish decisions follow you throughout your adult life. GROW UP!

I have never had a issue with the staff getting things done. ------- was my leasing agent and she was great!! She walked me through it all. And I have been here since Sept 08. She checks on me often to make sure all is well. I dont know any place who is any more hands on then the staff here. I don't have a roach issue but again I guess its all on how clean you are and how clean those around you are. I agree with the response about you must not be able to pay your bills which is why you are so mad. But dont blame the staff on your short comings. I think they do a great job and this is a great place to live. (at least until I buy a home) My kids are happy and the schools are great.

The roach problem was here before I was. We set off nine bombs before we moved in. I finally have resorted to heavier duty stuff then Raid. It appears to be working now. The floor still dips in all the rooms, and they still have not fixed everything but have sent me follow ups that all have been fixed. I am going to quit complaining. As for the person who has not moved in yet, there are empty apartments, I see one from parking lot. Ask the office to show that one to you. Even if it isn't the same number of bedrooms, at least you will get a feel for what you are moving into. Or is there a reason they won't until AFTER you sign the lease? Won't hurt to ask; I am curious what kind of excuse they come up with.

Type up all your maintenance request and have the office staff sign and date them when you turn it in. If your maintenance request has not been fixed with in 14 days, you can legally break your lease.
